About

Rainer Kelly is a Melbourne-based shooter-producer, director, and cinematographer with over 20 years of experience in broadcast television, film, and commercial production. Specialising in premium factual and documentary content, Rainer served as Senior Hub-Producer and Head Camera on the hit SBS factual series Alone Australia, which won the 2026 AACTA Award for Best Factual Entertainment Program.

He is the creator and Director/Cinematographer of the acclaimed 6-part SBS documentary series My Second Restaurant in India (2018), which won an Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) Award and was broadcast internationally. His extensive credits as a director and shooter-producer include My Restaurant in India (2016), Big Miracles (2023), Airport 24/7 (2025), and Dr Ann's Secret Lives (2025). As a Director/Cinematographer, Rainer also won Best Short Documentary at the Antenna Documentary Film Festival for The Space Around You (2021).
